A very active and famous still life artist, Onofrio Loth was a pupil in Naples in the workshop of Giovanni Battista Ruoppolo. In Rome he had the opportunity to collaborate with the greatest artists of his time such as Sebastiano Conca and Francesco Trevisani and had Cardinal Fabrizio Spada and the Ruspoli princes among his clients. In this small still life it is possible to grasp the creativity of the Loth here expressed through lively and interesting chromatic passages.
