The present painting is a copy of the famous work performed by Francesco Solimena for the Cathedral of Salerno. The work is attributed to a pupil of Solimena: Evangelista Schiano. We can consider the canvas as an exercise performed by Schiano in his apprenticeship phase at Solimena's workshop; a replica of a successful model which sees the Saint standing in the middle with the vial of miraculous blood in his right hand.
