The painter illustrates the famous iconography of the "Virgin with Child and Angels". We can observe the Virgin with her deep blue veil and how she searches for the sleeping Child. Around the main scene we can see angels intent on admiring what happens between the two main characters. Cerrini used to create delicate and graceful characters, going against the trends of his time, before his changes. So this is a nice example of his typical style.
